Renewable energy in a system and life cycle perspective

Placeholder

We work with energy systems where agriculture or forestry play important roles. The most extensive research focuses on system studies, where we analyze and improve systems for the production and use of renewable energy using various system analytical and environmental system analytical methods. Life cycle analysis (LCA) is our most important methodology. Above all, we study bioenergy systems, but our system perspective also contributes to the study of other renewable energy sources such as sun and wind.

The food supply is becoming increasingly dependent on electricity, for example through the electrification of agricultural vehicles and the production of fertilizer from electricity, and we also study these systems from different aspects. We also work with technical solutions linked to the production and use of renewable energy and electricity, above all this applies to biogas-related systems. The biological systems we study are based on time-dependent and dynamic processes and we work continuously to develop the LCA methodology to be able to handle these processes in a better way.
