Cognition and Behavioral Change in Energy Consumption

Placeholder

An energy transition involves large structural changes to both supply and demand sides. As such, insights into motivations, barriers, and other cognitive precursors of electricity consumers' behaviours and decisions are an integral part of a sustainable transition.

The overall contribution of Uppsala's division for Cognition and Perception in STandUP lies in the investigation of potential cognitive factors contributing to decision making and behaviour change related to electricity consumption. The main focus is therefore on the cognitive processes leading to behaviour and decisions, be this related to flexibility, energy reduction, or adoption of smart technology.
