Electric vehicles and electrification in society
More vehicles are being electrified, creating new demands on the available charging infrastructure to enable quick and efficient charging. The research group in electric vehicles and electrification in society at the Division of Electricity, Uppsala University, consists of several researchers interested in analyzing what is required to electrify the vehicle fleet. Our research projects focus on the development of various electric vehicles, available charging infrastructure, and the potential consequences for the electricity grid. Research on specialized electric vehicles, such as electric flights and reliable electricity supply at airports, is also being conducted. New charging strategies for electric vehicles, such as vehicle-to-grid and battery swapping, may become increasingly relevant in the future. The goal of research and education in this area is to contribute to knowledge and development for a sustainable and resilient electricity supply and electrification in society. Strong collaborations also foster interesting cross-disciplinary projects and impactful research on electromobility.
